NIAID has a long-standing commitment to conduct research on Lyme disease. The major goals of the NIAID Lyme disease research program are to develop better means of diagnosing, treating, and preventing this disease. Aleah is a clinical postbaccalaureate intramural research and training award (IRTA) fellow working with the Lyme Disease Studies Unit, Division of Intramural Research.
