Prepare for Opportunity to Advance MCM Development for AMR Bacteria and Fungi

Recently, we published a notice of intent to alert potential applicants to a notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) scheduled for release in late-December. The Centers for Excellence in Translational Research (CETR) program will support multidisciplinary translational research Centers focused on generating, validating, and advancing medical countermeasures (MCMs) against antimicrobial resistant (AMR) bacteria and fungi that have known or emerging resistance to current therapies.

Each new Center will be organized around a specific major objective, theme, or program goal. Single institutions or consortia of institutions may apply. Read the October 12, 2023 Guide notice for additional details. We will cover the NOFO in greater detail.

Provide Feedback on HIV and Women’s Health, Consent Language for Digital Technologies

Through NIH Request for Information (RFI) on Research Opportunities Related to HIV and Women, NIH invites comments and testimonies on 1) research gaps and high-priority topics related to HIV and women, 2) opportunities to support women in HIV research careers, and 3) real-life testimonial experiences related to women and HIV. The deadline to respond is December 31, 2023.

Separately, NIH is collecting community input at Comment Form: Developing Consent Language for Research Using Digital Health Technologies on informed consent sample language. You are invited to identify gaps or additional concepts that should be included or clarified. NIH also seeks input on the utility and usability of the sample language, or any other relevant feedback. The sample language itself is written out in the October 11, 2023 Guide notice. Submit feedback by December 12, 2023.
