Make Sure to Use New Versions of Parent Announcements
NIH has released *new versions of parent notices of funding opportunities (NOFOs) in preparation for the transition to FORMS-I for applications due on or after January 25, 2025. Make sure to refer to these parent NOFOs and submit your application using the correct form set as some announcements may still include links to the previous form set. NIH Seeks Input on Use of Metadata to Increase Transparency of Research Results
NIH has issued a request for public comment on the use of metadata and persistent identifiers (PIDs) to help increase findability and transparency of research results as part of its Metadata and Persistent Identifiers Plan. The Plan outlines efforts to not only create but also easily find information that uniquely identifies research outputs as well as specifics on who conducted the research, where, when, and how. You can submit your comments through this online form. Responses will be accepted through February 21, 2025.
Updated eRA Resource Aligns Training Tables with New FORMS-I Requirements
eRA Commons has updated its xTRACT module to conform with the new FORMS-I requirements, allowing applicants to populate research training dataset tables more easily in forms for training awards. Training data changes in xTRACT include the ability to add partner organizations and associate faculty of partner organizations as well as programs/departments from partner organizations, and the ability to report faculty who have left the program. What’s more, training data tables no longer require certain trainee characteristics related to prior academic and research experience or information on “Those Clearly Associated with the Training Grant.” Learn more about these recent eRA enhancements.
