Last week, NIH completed a major overhaul of its Grants & Funding website. Watch the Grants Relaunch video tour for a summary of key changes, including:
- A “New to NIH” tab that explains NIH’s structure and funding mechanisms, and gives directions for organizations and investigators to complete requisite registrations before applying.
- Enhanced NIH Guide search functions that allow users to search within funding categories, e.g., Research Training and Career Development, as well as a new option to view search results in either a table view or a detailed view. Additionally, policy notices are now on a separate tab from funding opportunities.
- The “News & Events” tab now incorporates and organizes more types of media, e.g., training webinars, podcast episodes, social media, blog posts, news releases, and more.
Keep in mind, NIH and NIAID maintain separate websites. As compared to the NIH website, NIAID’s Grants & Contracts information, advice, and standard operating procedures include details specific to our Institute’s practices—for example, at NIAID we have a unique prior consultation process for investigator-initiated clinical trial applications.
