Yes. Review meetings are conducted by a scientific review officer (SRO), and program officers may attend to observe the review of one or more specific applications assigned to them as well as to serve as an information resource if requested by an SRO and potentially answer reviewers’ questions regarding programmatic aspects of an initiative. But a program officer cannot tell you anything about a meeting; our scientific review and program staff adhere to strict rules around protecting Integrity and Confidentiality in NIH Peer Review.
