Join us in our annual appreciation of NIAID peer review and committee members, then learn how to volunteer for a peer review group yourself.
Cheers to Volunteers
We express our deepest gratitude to everyone who volunteered to serve on a peer review group or advisory committee in fiscal year (FY) 2021. Your time, effort, and contributions are critically important to help NIAID fund the best science and were very impactful during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
Therefore, on behalf of NIAID and our research community, thank you to Members of NIAID Peer Review Groups and Advisory Committees (PDF) and NIAID Council Members!
We especially appreciate those reviewers who evaluated applications for NIAID’s Emergency COVID-19 funding opportunity announcements; the highly expedited reviews were possible only because of your outstanding commitment.
If you spot any issues with your entry, email deaweb@niaid.nih.gov.
We also give thanks to those who served as reviewers at the NIH Center for Scientific Review (CSR) level. You may find your name listed through CSR Study Sections.
We Want Peer Reviewers
Experienced investigators, consider donating your time and experience to a worthy cause: Serving on a Peer Review Committee.
If you are early in your research career, even if you have never received NIH funding, you may also participate in one study section each year through CSR’s Early Career Reviewer (ECR) Program.
Virtual meeting technology allows for social distancing and eliminates the burden of travel. As you serve the scientific community, you also get invaluable insights into reviewer expectations for your own future applications.
Wondering what it’s like to be a reviewer? Find your colleagues on the NIAID PDF list linked above and ask them to share their experiences.
