CMV Vaccine Development—How Close Are We?

Currently, there is no vaccine available to prevent congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) and to prevent the consequences of CMV disease in recipients of transplanted organs and hematopoietic cells. Numerous candidate vaccines are moving forward, and some are in clinical trials.  The purpose of the meeting is to exchange information among academia, industry, advocacy and federal agencies on the current status and the challenges to develop and license a CMV vaccine.
