Biography
Silvia joined the lab as a Visiting Fellow on August 1, 2016, and converted to a Research Fellow in January, 2022. Her research is mainly focused on understanding how the inflammasome and complement pathways are activated and their impact in the progression of different inflammatory conditions, including Tuberculosis (TB) immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS), Kaposi sarcoma herpesvirus associated-malignances and, more recently, COVID-19.
