Biography
My work explores the mechanisms by which natural hosts for SIV have co-evolved with SIV to avoid disease progression. We’ve found unique epigenetic changes across the genome of T cell subsets in African green monkeys that engender down-regulation of the SIV receptor CD4 by cells that become resistant to SIV infection in vivo.
