Cheng-Chao graduated from the University of Rochester with a Master degree and Ph.D., where he studied selective autophagy in David Goldfarb’s laboratory. He joined Gregory Germino’s group at NIDDK as a fellow and investigated polycystic kidney disease with cutting-edge technology such as super-resolution microscopy, CRISPR/Cas9, and affinity purification–mass spectrometry. In 2021, he joined MGGM, and his current research mainly focuses on the generation of genetically modified mammalian cells and animals by CRISPR/Cas9.
