Biography

I am investigating the role of tick saliva regulating tick feeding success, including the antihemostatic features of tick saliva that facilitate tick attachment and ability to engorge. Similarly, I am investigating how the host’s immune response challenge’s the tick salivary compounds leading to rejection of tick feeding. I am also working on breeding ticks in house to provide supplies of lab-reared ticks in case commercial supplies are not available.
