After completing an Infectious Disease fellowship at UTMB, Galveston, I joined the Translational Mycology Section in NIAID in 2018. I currently serve as associate investigator for protocol 93-I-0106 which involves studying the natural course of cryptococcosis in previously healthy, HIV negative adults and host immune defects leading to susceptibility. My primary area of research interest lies in studying clinical manifestations of Post-Infectious Inflammatory Syndrome (PIIRS) following CNS cryptococcosis and potential treatment modalities including JAK inhibitors. As a staff clinician, my role includes mentorship and education for trainees rotating on the LCIM ward service and I also attend on the General ID consult service. I am currently a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America and was part of the initial COVID-19 response team at the NIH Clinical Center in 2020.
