Biography

Alia received her B.S. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from the University of California Los Angeles. She is currently a student in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine. As an NIH-OxCam Scholar, she will collaborate with Dr. Anindita Roy at Oxford University to investigate mechanisms underlying the transition from fetal to postnatal hematopoiesis and their role in the development of hematological diseases.
