Biography

Dr. Fabozzi is a Ph.D. trained molecular biologist with expertise in gene regulation and specialization in microbiology and virology focused on host-pathogen models (Escherichia coli-phage; Listeria monocytogenes, Mycobacteria, Ebolavirus and influenza virus).

Ongoing research focuses on the characterization of the cellular dynamics in non-human primate (NHP) model tissues (lymph nodes, lung and spleen) elicited upon natural infection (e.g SHIV), therapeutic interventions such as broadly neutralizing antibodies (bNAb) and vaccines.  For ongoing NHP studies at the VRC, the pathogen (virus or bacteria) and the infused drugs (bNAb) are imaged and quantified to provide insight for therapeutics and vaccine development.
