Biography

Jeferson obtained his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry in 2019 at the Industrial University of Santander, under the supervision of Profs. Marianny Y. Combariza and Cristian Blanco. He then joined the Federal University of Goias in Brazil as a postdoctoral researcher and worked, under the guidance of Prof. Boniek Gontijo Vaz, on the characterization of complex petroleum mixtures by high resolution mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) coupled to MALDI, APPI, APCI and ESI. Currently, his research is focused on the detection and spatial localization of lipids, metabolites and proteins on human and non-human primate tissues to study immunological responses by imaging mass spectrometry (IMS). He is also interested in the detection of drugs on tissues by using IMS.
