Biography
Bradley C. Lowekamp graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2002 with Computer Sciences and Mathematics majors. His areas of interest include software engineering, open-source software development, biomedical image computing, visualization, parallel computing, algorithms analysis, and deep learning. Mr. Lowekamp is the Technical Lead for SimpleITK, an open-source, cross-platform, multi-language library for biomedical image analysis. SimpleITK is among the top 1% of downloaded Python packages. He designed and developed a robust algorithm to register multiplexed immunofluorescence confocal microscopy images as part of the iterative bleaching extends multiplexity (IBEX) protocol. Modern image analysis techniques with artificial intelligence and deep learning are applied by Mr. Lowekamp in the TB Portals project to support data ingestion, outlier detection, and content-based information retrieval for an extensive data collection of chest x-ray images.
