Award Year: 2022

Biography
Kristin D. Lane is an Assistant Professor at Idaho State University. She holds a M.S. in Biology from Old Dominion University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology with concentrations in Molecular Biology and Microbial Pathogenesis from Virginia Commonwealth University. As a NIAID Intramural Fellow, her postdoctoral research focused on the molecular mechanisms of antimalarial resistance to novel electron transport chain inhibitors. The Lane lab studies molecular genetics and fundamental biochemical pathways of non-model human pathogens, using interdisciplinary approaches to identify new targets to exploit for drug development to circumvent antimicrobial resistance.
