Eligibility Window for F30 Applicants Is 48 Months from Matriculation

To apply for an Individual Predoctoral National Research Service Award for MD/PhD Fellowships (F30), the candidate must have matriculated into a dual-degree program no more than 48 months prior to the due date of the initial application. Exceptions to this first eligibility criterion are considered when the candidate has taken an official leave of absence from their dual-degree program.

NIAID receives a lot of exemption requests, and we do not approve them all. Rather than risk an exemption request being denied, try to apply within the original window of eligibility. Read Quick Facts on Fellowship Grants for further guidance.
