Biography

James attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston, receiving a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and becoming a registered pharmacist in Massachusetts, a credential maintained to this date. After graduation, James attended the Harvard GSAS at Harvard Medical School to study herpes simplex virus DNA replication with Dr. Donald M. Coen. James did a postdoc with Dr. Ronald Desrosiers, studying SIV at Harvard’s N.E. Regional Primate Research Center, Southboro, MA. James also did a shorter postdoc with Dr. Michael Green at UMass Memorial Medical Center. James is interested in the molecular virology of influenza A, coronaviruses, and other viruses. James is also interested in computer applications for use in molecular virology research.
