Biography

Molly Ring received her B.Sc. in microbiology and infectious disease from Colorado State University in 2023. During her undergraduate degree, she conducted research on the efficacy of repeat ivermectin mass drug administrations for the control of malaria (RIMDAMAL) at the Centers for Vector-Borne Infectious Disease, Colorado State University. While at Colorado State University, she worked on a team to analyze clinical and entomological data to investigate the efficacy of this malaria intervention method. In 2023, she worked as a summer intern in the NIAID Molecular Entomology Unit investigating the function of mosquito salivary proteins, where she currently serves as a postbaccalaureate fellow. As a post-baccalaureate researcher, Molly is working to characterize the function of mosquito and black fly salivary proteins with a particular interest in understanding how some salivary proteins can alter immune regulation of their host.
