Biography
Education
Ph.D., University of Virginia
B.A., Rutgers College
Dr. Brzostowski received his B.A. from Rutgers College and his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. As a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases, Dr. Brzostowski used live cell imaging technologies to study the mechanisms that regulate directional cell movement in the model organism Dictyostelium discoideum. Dr. Brzostowski was recruited to LIG in 2005 to establish a core imaging facility that would provide principal investigators, students, and fellows the ability to carry out sophisticated live cell imaging experiments with cutting-edge technologies. As core chief, Dr. Brzostowski actively trains LIG staff and outside collaborators to master a variety of imaging modalities. In addition to his duties at LIG, Dr. Brzostowski is a managing faculty member of the summer Physiology Course at the Marine Biological Laboratory at Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
