Trichomoniasis

Trichomoniasis, is an infection caused by the Trichomonas vaginalis parasite. Trichomoniasis can increase the risk of getting or spreading other sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. The parasitic infection can also lead to inflammation of the cervix (cervicitis) and the urethra (urethritis).
