Researchers are always welcome to submit investigator-initiated R01 grant applications on topics relevant to women’s health that fall within the NIAID mission. Additionally, researchers can respond to specific requests for applications issued or supported by NIAID, which are available on the NIAID Funding Opportunities List.
NIAID participates in other funding opportunities that are sponsored by other NIH institutes and centers, including:
- Translational Research in Maternal and Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics (R01) (PAR-23-130). This opportunity has multiple deadlines beginning July 05, 2023, through 2026.
- Translational Research in Maternal and Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics (R21) (PAR-23-131). This opportunity has multiple deadlines beginning July 05, 2023, through 2026.
NIAID also supports extramural organizations that offer funding opportunities, including the Advancing Clinical Therapeutics Globally for HIV/AIDS and Other Infections (ACTG) and the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials (IMPAACT) network, both of which develop and review proposed clinical research studies related to the treatment of HIV-1 disease and its related complications in women across the lifecycle. Investigators who are not part of ACTG or IMPAACT can propose studies with these networks.
