Foreword and Tributes

The 30th anniversary version of the Report, which highlights recent advances in vaccine research, is prefaced by a foreword by NIAID Director Anthony S. Fauci, M.D. It also includes tributes to the late William S. Jordan, M.D., Robert M. Chanock, M.D., and Edwin D. Kilbourne, M.D., by Carole A. Heilman, Ph.D., director of the NIAID Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.

The Jordan Report Appendixes detail the current status of vaccine research and development. Appendix A provides the status for a wide range of infectious disease pathogens. Appendix B details the status of NIAID-supported HIV vaccines in preclinical development. Appendix C provides information about current clinical trials of HIV vaccine candidates in HIV-uninfected adults.
