The Bioinformatics and Computational Biosciences Branch (BCBB) serves as a centralized resource for providing expert training and timely bioinformatics consulting and data analysis. The branch integrates computational and data-driven science with cyber infrastructure to offer innovative products and services that support, enable, and advance biomedical discovery for NIAID researchers and collaborators.
Featured BCBB Work

African Centers of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Data-Intensive Science (ACE)
ACE delivers high performance computing infrastructure and training to collaborating research and academic institutions in Africa.

Microbial Genomics
BCBB has expertise in many types of genomics methods applied to metagenomics, microbial genomics, transcriptomics, phylogenomics, and more.

Nephele
Nephele is a microbiome analysis engine which brings together microbiome data and analysis tools in a cloud computing environment. It offers robust, multi-step microbiome analysis pipelines, with no setup time or cost.
Working with BCBB
The BCBB team collaborates with NIAID researchers on a wide variety of projects to process and analyze almost every kind of biomedical data type in the larger context of information found in public repositories and databases. Collaborative data analysis and software training services are available to researchers at all levels of experience. See all BCBB Scientific Services and Resources.
