Biography

Education

D.V.M., 1996, Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Paré has more than 30 years’ experience in laboratory animal care in a variety of roles. He began his career as a U.S. Army Animal Care Specialist (MOS-91T) in 1982 at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Army, he worked as a veterinary technician and supervisor at BioWhittaker (now Lonza), as well as a Facility Manager with the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. He left the NIH in 1992 to earn his D.V.M. from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1996. After working in clinical practice for a few years, he joined the NIAID Comparative Medicine Branch in 1998.
