Dr. Chadalavada received her D.V.M. from S.V. Veterinary University, India in 2006, and a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Irell & Manella Graduate School of Biological Sciences, Duarte, California in 2014. She completed a residency program in Laboratory Animal Medicine at City of Hope and University of Southern California in 2014. As part of the Ph.D. and residency program she developed animal models for human B cell lymphoma, HIV, hepatitis and tested various siRNAs, aptamers in the animals. After completion of the residency program she worked as clinical veterinarian and in IACUC office at University of California, Davis and at Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute, Bethesda. She also worked as a consultant Attending Veterinarian for SoBran Biosciences. She has more than 10 years of experience as laboratory animal veterinarian and worked with various animal species including rodents, dogs, cats, rabbits, pigs, non-human primates, sheep and cattle. She has an active veterinary license in the state of California, and in India. Dr. Chadalavada became specialty board certified by the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine in 2017. She joined the CMB team and became part of NIAID in 2017.
